It has been a very busy spring!
A trip to Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut for US Route 1. Will be on the road again soon!
From the Massachusetts boarder to the Rhode Island border, it was a suburban area, although I had no idea that Patriot Stadium was located on US Route 1. Not being a football fan, I was surprised.
Rhode Island is a very nice state. US Route 1 is a nice road to drive on to meet people, gawk at some very interesting and older homes. The visitor center personnel were wonderful! They went out of their way to explain the area to me.
I found in some areas, that the bicycle paths are the original US Route 1. The current US Route 1 is a multi-lane highway. US Route 1 weaves like a bubble head, back and forth over the highway. In some places it is a
limited access and others there is unlimited access.
Wherever we stopped, we were met enthusiastic people welcoming us to their state!
And on to Connecticut!
If anyone knows where I can find a map of Connecticut, please let me know! For some reason, there are no Connecticut maps available!
Off to Philadelphia to cover Philadelphia, PA to Bridgeport,CT in a couple of weeks. I am reluctant to mention my favorites since there is something of great interest in all of the states.
The travel part of the book is nearly complete, which means that I will be closeted in my work room doing background research!
