The day's end!

It turned out to be 'a one of a kind' day. Everyone I met was just happy to be alive on one of Boston's most lovely days. They even allowed me to park in their driveway to take pictures! As most of you New Englanders know, Boston can be the coldest place on the earth during a winter ice storm and the hottest place during a 100 degree day in August!

US Route 1 from Saugus, MA  to just beyond Boston is a limited access highway. Since the day was so beautiful, I couldn't resist driving and walking along the waterfront in Boston.  At this time, the Tobin Bridge is under construction and it put a crimp in my plan to take a picture from the bridge - so the next best thing a picture from the waterfront of the bridge!

In the distance that white spot is the Tobin Bridge ( US Route 1). The end of this portion of US Route 1 is complete for the day. From Ft. Kent, Maine to Boston, MA is now part of my history!

As I headed north, I saw more and more trees changing. By the time I entered my driveway, it seemed to be almost peak color. I am happy with what I accomplished the past few days. Unpacking the car I turned and had to take this picture of my backyard - my safe harbor.

It was a perfect week for wandering !
