This past year Cardigan Farms has had some setbacks. The maple syrup, always a product of nature, did not flow until later, the result? Only dark syrup. My personal fav but not everyone's.
We have been experimenting with garlic for 2 years now. The scapes - the tops of the garlic makes the best pesto. The downside this year - the garlic is not growing as it should. We have decided to
wait and experiment more this fall and possible put it on the market next year.
A garlic cookbook is in the works but it probably will not be finished for a year or so as I have been sidetracked by knitting.
Knitting, no less, a favorite pastime of mine since I was 4. As I was relearning the many variations of stitches and patterns, it became clear to me that somehow pattern writing has become flawed and only word based.
With that thought in mind, I am attempting to write a knitting book changing the way patterns are written.
Recently I had the opportunity to meet some incredible people at a knitting retreat run by Donna Druchunas. If ever there was a perfect group of women with 5 different knitting and crochet viewpoints and strengths this was it! Check out sheeptoshawl.com.
Thanks to Rachel, Katherine, Deb, Sarah and Donna.
OTHER CHANGES:
The cookbooks will be put online for downloading. Knitting information will have a web site soon and for questions regarding knitting please email: nanasneighborhood@gmail.com
Have a wonderful one!
Maggie
